Get Involved

There are a number of offices across campus where you can get involved in service, research, and leadership development. Below are some of the campus-wide programs that serve students. We encourage you to explore their offerings, and to also ask in your departmental office if there are opportunities for involvement for students in your major.

Center for Leadership and Service

The mission of the Center for Leadership and Service is to educate and engage all students to lead and serve the global community. The CLS offers volunteer opportunities, trainings, and many more ways to get involved in serving your community!

Center for Impact Careers

The Center for Impact Careers is housed within Career Services and focuses on preparing students to make a social or environmental impact through their professions. The CIC works with students and employers to provide individual consultations, career coaching, and programming such as career fairs, industry panels, and more.

Baker Center

The Baker Center offers a number of unique and meaningful opportunities for students to engage in research, service, and internships related to public policy.

 Office of Undergraduate Research

The Office of Undergraduate Research helps students pursue scholarly knowledge, career opportunities, and answers to interesting questions through research. Students have unique opportunities to publish their research, present to scholars and policymakers, and much more.

CEHHS Service-Learning Honors Program

The College of Education, Health and Human Sciences provides a unique opportunity for its best and brightest students to use classroom learning in solving real world problems. Through the college’s honors program in service learning, students have an opportunity to apply knowledge and skills specific to their academic majors to their work with individuals and/or groups in the community. University-Assisted Community Schools

The UACS at Pond Gap is a pilot project designed to address the unmet social, academic, and economic needs of Pond Gap students and the larger community. They are a full-service community school aimed at delivering a holistic set of support services to students, parents, and the Pond Gap community. There are a variety of opportunities for students to get involved. Contact them for details.

UT Recycling

UT Recylcling‘s mission is to provide quality recycling services to all campus buildings and to reduce campus waste. The recycling team goes above and beyond their duties of providing recycling infrastructure and pick-up, working hard to educate and encourage participation in the college community. Office staff work to reduce UT’s environmental impact and integrate recycling, conservation, and other sustainability best practices into campus and community culture.
